Fund Raising and Special Projects

September 2009 - Despite gloomy  weather predictions earlier in the week, the sun shone on Friday  4 September for the Charity Golf Day. Sixty nine golfers teed off in the breezy conditions with two winners in two different categories being Vic Clarke and Nigel King. Over £6,000 was raised from the event, with the   monies being allocated for several of our young people to attend a personal development holiday in the May half term next year.  As always, a big thank you to the Golf Day Committee Members Bob Lamborn, Pete Foster, Mick Doherty and their families, plus all the members, families and friends who helped support the occasion by buying raffle tickets.

 

August 2009 – We were very fortunate to enlist another band of very willing volunteers, this time from UPS in Dartford, to come and help around Allsworth Court. The team, led by Ian Pullen, set to work and trimmed the Beech hedge to the front of the building, painted the new front fence, weeded the flower beds and cleared some rubble from the side of the building. Everyone at Allsworth Court wants to convey their sincere thanks to all the volunteers.

July 2009 –A team from Glaxo Smith Klein in Dartford came along to volunteer in our Sensory Garden. They did a fantastic job painting fences, benches, the cabin and our wheelchair swing. They also did brilliantly weeding and generally sprucing up the garden. A big thank you to all involved.


May 2009 – We are currently planning our 10th Annual Charity Golf Day, to be held on Friday 4th September 09 at Lullingstone Park Golf Course.  Raffle tickets in support of this event will be circulated with the June newsletter.  Anybody who receives an electronic copy of the newsletter can request raffle books by contacting Lee Manning in Leisure Services.  Should you wish to donate any raffle prizes or sponsor the event, please also contact Lee for further details.

October 2008 - Here at the Parents Consortium we have recently signed up to Just Giving.

Just Giving lets people donate to our charity online, it’s quick, easy and tax friendly. Just Giving allows you to make either one off or monthly donations, create fundraising pages and get sponsored online and you also can create a donation page in memory of a loved one.
