What is the Information
Service?
A free and confidential service to give advice and support. For more
details on our information service please contact Tracey
Sams on admin@parentsconsortium.co.uk
Information at our fingertips
The advice and information provided by The Information Service is based on
many years of experience working with and for parents of disabled children
and includes:
Resource Library
The Information Service has a Resource Library containing a variety of
publications which may be of interest to Parents Consortium members. These
include books about Autism Spectrum Disorders, Downs Syndrome, Cerebral
Palsy, ADHD plus books on specific issues such as Toileting, Sleep Problems
and explaining disability to siblings. We also have a selection of videos,
some children’s audio books and a wide selection of resource catalogues.
Support Groups
We operate a number of support groups / drop-ins for parents, grandparents
and carers of disabled children. These groups are overseen by a member of
the Information Service staff but predominantly parent led, and gives the
opportunity for parents to share their wealth of experiences and
information. The dates for these meetings are given on our Diary Dates
page.
